The invisible shape a game uses to decide whether an attack connects.

A hitbox is an invisible collision shape attached to a character, attack, or object. When an attack’s hitbox overlaps a target’s hurtbox, the game registers a hit. Hitboxes are usually simpler than the visible model, which can make hits feel unfair.

Example
That arrow went right past me; the hitbox on this character is huge.
